Sacred Haven of Debauchery

We tried to help everyone, not just ourselves. Share a piece of cake with your neighbor, especially if the cake is shared... or will you eat it all yourself? It's better to be full and selfish than hungry and "normal," right?

I didn't understand what this was about at all. Children were starving, but they were afraid to pick up ears of grain because they would be shot for it. What kind of full, selfish people with cakes are we talking about? And who are the "not normal" people without cake?
