As practice shows, userbars are only liked by their owner. This is a minority. Others either don't care about them or find them annoying.
Why do I need to know what obscure, terrible metal band a person is a fan of? Or what generic anime girl they're obsessed with? Or that they like Reddit? It's posing. It's like going out dressed like some subculture and shouting loudly, "Look at me!" One person out of a hundred will be the same kind of geek and respond, "Haha, check me out, we're cool," but the other ninety-nine percent of self-respecting, proud, and intelligent people who don't need such flashy displays will spit in that poser's face and continue on their way, forgetting about him in a minute. And he'll go home, wipe the spit off his face, and cry or get angry, saying that he'll show them, and life is terrible, and everyone around him is a boor.
Don't be so childishly categorical.
