I apologize in advance to everyone for the slight criticism that will be expressed here. I want to immediately clarify that I strongly support real-life Heroes gatherings; I have attended three of them myself, so I want to personally thank Nagan for organizing the meeting – at least for the Dobberman))) . Regarding the matter: during the organization of the CIS championship, I heard rather offensive (to me) words from Nagan, which stuck in my mind. Specifically, about the Kingisepp tournament – I'm too lazy to look for that post now, but back then, Nagan spoke about Kingisepp in a way that it was more of a Heroes gathering than a tournament, where the main focus was on entertainment and poker, and the participants didn't really care about Heroes. I have been closely following Kingisepp for 4 years (that is, 4 tournaments) and also participated in the tournament before last. I consider this tournament, in which the strongest Heroes players regularly (almost always) play (Alex, MikeSPB, Bayazet, Roland), to be the most "favorable" in terms of conditions for serious competition: the number of days for games is greater than in the CIS final + excellent facilities + a decisive, experienced, and respected organizer, Napalm. So, I decided to look and read and find out the opinions of the participants about what Eric organized, since for him, a tournament like Kingisepp is not serious in terms of Heroes competition, and Nagan himself has repeatedly noted that regular Heroes gatherings and competitive play in tournaments have practically ceased to happen recently (and yet, as I said, the strongest players have been coming and playing in Kingisepp for the last 4 years, or maybe even longer – I didn't check). So, as I understand from the forum and the opinions of the players, the Heroes gathering was excellent, but there wasn't much of a tournament or competition in Heroes – a quote: "they were all drinking ))) There was no serious tournament at all." I apologize to all participants for the criticism; please don't be offended – I am truly happy that you got together. I want to tell Nagan that I am very disappointed by the lack of a strong tournament intrigue.
What offenses? Regarding Kingisepp, I'll say this: I've known Napalm for a very long time, since the first tournament in St. Petersburg, when he came with Vietnam. He has been to Michurinsk twice, once for a match between St. Petersburg and Michurinsk, and another time for a fixed-rules tournament. I greatly respect this person for his great work in the Heroes community.
But I also have some comments; I apologize in advance. The participants are the strongest from all the tournaments – the best from St. Petersburg, Minsk, and Moscow. But there are few reports about the games played, no tournament bracket, and no reports about the progress of the games. I am sure that much more could be extracted from such a tournament to popularize Heroes. But in terms of a Heroes festival, everything was at the highest level, and many who were there said so.
Regarding the recent gathering in Michurinsk. I wouldn't change anything; everything went too well. I usually organize tournaments in the fall, winter, or early spring, when there is nowhere else to go, and people sit in the club until late at night. That's how dozens of tournaments have been held.
