It's beautiful, but somehow multi-layered. It's a long chain from Homer to sheepskins. In my opinion, something shorter could be linked to Homer. Although it's easier to criticize than to come up with something - I don't have any ideas yet. Maybe the clue isn't related to the skin itself, but to something more abstract: shelter, time, waiting...?
