A new beginning. The "Knights of Honor" tournament.

Tournament rules have been adjusted based on existing rules... Let's submit suggestions and changes, as well as additions to them...;)

1. The tournament is conducted in three stages. The duration of each stage is 3 weeks, meaning there will be 21 days (can be increased up to a maximum of 4 weeks).

2. Each stage involves three save-tasks. Thus, the total number of tasks is nine, one for each race. The goal is to complete the assigned task as quickly as possible (roughly speaking, against the clock); I also suggest diversifying the tasks...(not just killing all enemies)

3. Competitive play takes place on maps selected (created) by the tournament organizers. The final decision regarding the number of opponents, map sizes, and terrain features (specifically water areas, mountains, teleports) is made by them.

4. At the end of each stage, the participant sends the winning saves. A winning save is made before the final battle. Winning saves should be named as follows: Stage № player nickname Task № For example: 1 Varg-Nar 2 . The map should be played under the nickname registered on the forum.

5. A player has the right to send as many winning saves as they managed to complete. Thus, the number of sent saves can range from 1 to 3.
In case someone wishes to play in the tournament while Stage 2 is already underway, please do so; simply, in the final table, you will not have "honor" for Stage 1 of the tournament. A compromise is possible: you must inform the organizer that you want to play Stage 1... and receive an answer from the organizer as to whether your saves will be accepted if you decide to play the tasks for Stage 1... anyway, this can be discussed; we are finding a solution to this problem...

6. During the week following the end of each stage, results for each save are tallied. These will be entered into the table on the forum...

7. At the end of the third and final stage, general results are tallied. The results of all the player's winning saves are taken into account. How to calculate the rating (number of points earned per map) needs to be discussed; please suggest schemes... The tournament winner receives the corresponding title.

8. In case two or more participants earn the same number of rating points (let's call these points "honor", for example: Supreme earned 321-honor), we can also discuss... what to do in case of a tie in "honor" between players...

9. In case one or more players earn the same amount of "honor" in the general standings, a reasonable solution to the problem must be found; please suggest some...

10. In case of doubts regarding the fairness of the walkthrough, the player is OBLIGATED to provide saves for every day...
If a player cannot send daily saves (for each day), their save will be annulled. Additionally, a description of their walkthrough is welcomed; it will make the verification take less time...

Task Walkthrough Rules...

1. When completing a save, one should be guided by the SPIRIT and IDEOLOGY of the tournament and be honest.
2. Hacking saves, using third-party programs ("hero diggers" etc.), as well as using cheat codes is strictly forbidden.
3. The following are prohibited:
3.1. Unfair play;
3.2. Use of the s/l method (specifically "digging for a hero", forcing weekly/monthly growth, etc.);
3.3. Use of any cheat codes regardless of the stage of completion, including "map exploration";
3.4. Loading an autosave, specifically "grinding" a result through constant re-playing of each Gameplay sequence.
4. The following are permitted: (I think these points should remain, as players have different skill levels...)
4.1. Re-playing the game from the VERY beginning twice in case of losing the map. However, it is strictly forbidden to use saves from a previous attempt during the repeat walkthrough;
4.2. Re-playing the map once from the very beginning without explaining the reasons. However, it is strictly forbidden to use saves from a previous attempt during the repeat walkthrough.
5. The game is played as if against a live opponent, without constant saving and reloading. With the exception of daily saves, which may be needed to verify your walkthrough...
6. I emphasize once more: LOADING AN AUTOSAVE, SAVING THE GAME BEFORE A BATTLE, AND LOADING ANY SAVE OTHER THAN THE STARTING ONE IS UNACCEPTABLE!, as it contradicts the SPIRIT and RULES of the Tournament. Only loading a suspended game save in case the walkthrough is interrupted is permitted. Naturally, verifying this point is impossible... we rely on your Honesty...
7. In case of a Rule violation by a player, they are deprived of the right to complete subsequent stages, thereby losing their coveted final "honor" points...

Well, basically, let's discuss it now...

First of all, I played not in spite of arguments, but in spite of the participants' unwillingness for me to play here!!!
Because I believe that to change something, you must participate.

In principle, I am in favor of starting a new tournament rather than continuing this one.

Furthermore, I will only play if saves are made on a version no lower than 3.2 and TE! I've looked at this "Complete Collection 4.0"
It's a nightmare; bugs from all versions are combined and now pop up regardless of who is playing!
But I don't know what the unfortunate owners of 4.0 should do; it doesn't patch properly. It starts crashing.

To the essence of the rules.
Everyone should have the ability to play! Participants are those who sent saves. I suggest significantly reducing the time limit for completing tasks.
Play for days, not points, at least.
Play only once. No "reconnaissance by fire"! We keep the ban on cheat codes and map viewing. A ban on using bugs of both the game and the map is mandatory!
Whoever couldn't do it in one go—they couldn't; you can play any number of tasks.

The start date for the second tournament should be no earlier, but also no later than the beginning of November.

So to speak, we played to spite the enemy, but rest assured, you had and have no enemies there... I had nothing against your participation... as for you not being put on the participants list, that was just a clerical error... and I think we've already sorted all that out back then, so let's not dwell on the bad... And you were right to participate...:)

Regarding tournament versions, I agree; it is simply necessary to play on a version no lower than 3.2 and on the TE version... as that's just the thing...:) I have Platinum myself (yes, all bugs in one pot :D)... I'll have to find SoD somewhere and patch it..... what can you do, it must be done... Yes, any forum members who wish may play; it's more fun and interesting together... more competition... Regarding re-plays, I wrote about it in the rules... well, we can think about this (we are looking for a middle ground)...

Let's formulate the idea first.
As I understand it, the essence is playing without re-plays and reconnaissance.
Everything else is just detail.
If that's the idea, I'm ready to support it.
However, we need to reduce the play time immediately. It's utopian to think that those who played all 40 days did so because of a lack of time. Just look at the forum activity to doubt this.
Second—switching to TE; there you can ban cheat codes entirely, meaning if there is no map, reconnaissance is completely impossible.
And third, full openness of the tournament—anyone who wants to play plays.
Preferably more variety in tasks and a move away from playing for points—but that's not the most important part.
The fundamental question is the judging of the tournament.
It would be better if at least one final save from each participant were posted on the forum for verification using programs to check for cheating! I can ask Natasha; she won't refuse to check saves.

P.S. I suggest changing the poll! If it were a new tournament, then maybe. But as it is, I won't answer—I simply wasn't accepted here!!!

Yes, play time needs to be reduced; I suggest 3 or maximum 4 weeks... but 3 weeks is better of course....;) Yes, let's try to diversify the tasks... for interest. We won't play for points... we need to create our own same system for counting "honor" points... Regarding save verification... a good suggestion... If Natasha agrees, then we can use her help...... Regarding you simply not being accepted here, I don't understand... We will have a Worthy tournament, worthy of the name "Knights of Honor", these aren't just words... so you only need to have the desire... and play your heart out...:) No one is going to send you a refusal to participate in the tournament...

A tournament is good. But until there is certainty regarding the method of conduct, I cannot give a definitive decision on participating. But if a discussion starts, I will make a feasible contribution.

Come on, come on, it'll be interesting; don't stay silent, join the discussion...:)

No, I won't; I already applied for one tournament but couldn't participate! Simply, when I study, I am away from home, meaning no access to Heroes or the internet! (possibly in summer or during winter break)

That's a pity, but who knows, maybe you can take part in the future....

Haven't decided which version to run the tournament on yet! I agree to Blade...

try to get it; patching SoD somewhere is no problem...:) don't refuse, try your best...;) It's more fun together...:)

Message from Qwerty
I can only play on "Buka Platinum". I have nothing else.

Dear Qwerty. I also count on your participation in the tournament... try to get the required version... Heroes can do Anything!:)

Message from Nowizard
I only have Blade. Is it suitable for playing?

Same here, get it wherever you want, just so you can play....:) I'd be glad!

My DESIRE to participate in the tournament outweighs my IGNORANCE of all its technical aspects. And therefore, I have decided to participate in the second stage (purely out of sporting interest). Having almost finished the map, I still don't know how events will unfold further: what happens on the arena, and how will they judge? And in general... WHAT should I do with my version? I have the so-called "Complete Collection (of bugs...)" by NPRF. Over the weekend, I ran out and bought myself ANOTHER Heroes Anthology (now I have two...), where I found SoD, although it's version 2.0! So what should I do: keep this ill-fated 4.0 collection, upgrade SoD from 2.0 to 3.2, or just install TE (TE is installed on WoG, right?)? And my WoG is also only version 3.2..... In short, it's a mess.... Who can tell me which direction to dig?
I'm not afraid of difficulties, and I WANT and WILL participate in tournaments!

Thanks in advance!

Yeeeeeas, I'm also planning to run to the store and get SoD, then patch it... hope I don't miss...;) In my opinion, you'd better install TE... you can see how to do that here

I'm not afraid of difficulties, and I WANT and WILL participate in tournaments!
That's the kind of people we need!:) Go for it...

I am naturally FOR the tournament. Regarding the version—now I have TE, so I don't mind running the tournament on this version. However, as I see, most may have problems with this.
Next—I don't know about playing for days—I already said that I don't like the race for days very much... But if the majority decides so—so be it! In the first stage, I took last place—well, no matter. Study and study again!!! I hope there will be more participants this time!
Next—yes, perhaps the term should be reduced—but not less than 2.5 or 3 weeks—because specifically I, with today's pace of life, simply won't make it otherwise (really have free time only on weekends).
And one more thing—I am FOR the openness of the tournament!!! Meaning whoever sent saves is a participant! Because in the first stage, this exact point caused quarrels and arguments... And HONOR and HONESTY—well, we'll have to trust everyone all at once! We are HEROES!!!

The fact that you got TE will now make your life easier... Regarding playing for points or days, we will play for days or time; the tasks will be diverse, so it will be interesting...:) Regarding the term, I agree to 3 weeks... We need to think about the point system, the "honor" system...;)

P.S. Friends, let's support the idea of the tournament... try to get the necessary versions, because if you try, it will work out...;)
I count on your support!:)
Times aren't great for me right now either, plenty of work and problems (those I told know), I wouldn't fight so desperately for the "Knights of Honor" Tournament if I were indifferent...
