This can be compared to a person's aspirations. Some strive for fun, entertainment, and partying, especially young people, and they believe that they NEED to do it (maybe as a direct obligation, I don't know). This is what it means to look at others and imitate them. Others seek meaning, their place, and they want to become part of something important. What will happen to the first group? Well, they'll have fun and party, and then the time will come when they need to go to work. They'll quickly find a job and stay there. There's a high probability that the job won't be something they love, because the choice was made quickly, and the person hasn't fully decided what they want. The second group, by this time, will have already figured things out and found what they enjoy, and then everything will go according to plan.
