Do you still play Heroes of Might and Magic III after the release of Heroes of Might and Magic V?
I don't like HoMM 5 because of its elaborate graphics and other reasons. I have parts 3 and 5 installed. Just thinking about how long it would take to load part 5 makes me shudder, and I click on part 3 instead. My friends and I like to play part 3 in "hot seat" mode. And imagine how long we'd have to wait for loading and reloading if we played part 5. Besides, everything is more abstract and simpler in part 3. In general, we like to mess around in "hot seat" mode. We take a large map (especially Apocalypse), edit it to create equal conditions (the opponent and we have equal chances + all artifacts), divide it into teams, and let the game begin. Now we've set the creature growth to only level 7 (i.e., weekly growth of about 23 creatures) - and let me tell you, it creates quite a mess... With this kind of gameplay, we don't even think about part 5...
You just need a more powerful computer; yes, it loads slowly on a weak computer, but mainly you need a good processor and RAM for the game; a video card isn't that important. I have a standard computer, and everything runs smoothly on maximum graphics: P4 D805 (dual-core), 1024 DDR2 677, and only 128 Geforce 7300, and even that is a reduced version. So, guys, buy decent computers, because part 5 is worth it!
