Play as Inferno.

If Wing is present, Inferno is doomed! There's no way around it... In my opinion, Wing is too overpowered at that stage of the game.
When we play at that stage, we ban certain heroes from each other's sides.

I can't agree with you about Wing's absolute overpoweredness; believe me, it's not that simple (this applies to the late and even super late game). For example, with proper play and development, Wing has virtually no chance against Dwarves, Necromancers, and the Academy. As for other factions, it's the opposite; Haven, Inferno, and the Elves have no chance against Wing. The only faction that has a "fifty-fifty" chance against Wing is the Orcs, but it depends a lot on artifacts and the right strategy during the battle.
I'm more than sure that there are no overpowered heroes in the game; there's a counter-hero or counter-faction for everyone. Based on experience, I can highlight the leaders who can stand up to any faction: Dwarves, Necromancers, and the Academy.
