Here is a cunning tactic of the Elves:
If you are close, pretend you are far; if you are far, pretend you are close; if you are using something, pretend you are not using it; lure the prey with profit; lead it into confusion and take it; if the prey is strong, avoid it; by provoking its anger, bring it into a state of confusion; by adopting a humble appearance, arouse its vanity; if they are many and friendly – separate them; attack when they are not ready; take them when they are not expecting it. But trolls have no tactics. They just catch and eat.
