Regarding the versions, there's an option (if we were to make it best of 2 wins...) to play one game on Soda and the other on VT. If the score is 1-1, here are the options:
a) a third game on Soda
b) the version for the third game is determined by a coin toss
c) there is no third game, and the winner is the one who achieved a complete victory in the shortest time. Here, a possible addition is that if the opponent believes that the other player is intentionally prolonging the game without any chance of winning, they can appeal to the judge to evaluate the save.
