I think it's worth it.
I haven't played Necropolis much, so I don't know. I really like Swamp.
Right now, I'm looking at the topic of a tournament for favorite factions. There was even a draft of templates, and one of the templates caught my eye.
It's called Jebus Cross. I won't suggest anything until I've watched some games with it carefully.
Yes, Necropolis is rarely a good choice. I don't really know how to play with it either, although the Castle is actually very strong. If on the second week, a ranged Castle (Rampart, Castle, Tower) doesn't engage in melee combat, then things will get bad... Actually, I don't know how to play with any Castle... In the second favorite factions game, I played as Swamp, but I only won one game and didn't make it out of the group... If there are third favorite factions, I'll play as Inferno. As for Jebus, I'm against it... It's not that it's bad, but it's the most unusual template. If you start playing with it, it's hard to enjoy other templates like Panic and Balance. If you play with other templates, it's hard to switch to Jebus... There's too much free stuff, and Necropolis on Jebus is a weak Castle. The strength of the army increases more from the pace of visiting Conservatories and Hives, powerful strongholds, rather than from necromancy... In my opinion, the strongest city on Jebus is Tower!!!
