In TE, troops should not gain experience. This is the setting recorded in the starting save. Only the computer gains experience in this mode.
With the skeleton transformer, you can get bone dragons from hydras and all types of dragons, and in TE, you can also get black knights from cavalry and unicorns. I just didn't build it because I didn't need it...
