In my opinion, this is a rather flawed point of view. Usually, in MMORPGs where you can pay for a premium account, it simply allows you to play normally. But a free account with reduced rates, a lack of useful features, unavailability of certain things, and other restrictions is an insult to the poor and a path to obsessive gaming. Buying items or characters for real money is more akin to cheating, but again, why not? If a person can afford a restaurant instead of a bag of oats in real life, what should we call that?
