I arrived just in time for the beginning, on Friday around 10 am. I ran into Sam on the way out of the subway, and at the cafe near the club, I found a whole bunch of old-timers:rolleyes: (although, only Pete and Vic came out well in the photo).
We went on a tour of the apartments of the Yeburg residents (a 4-room Stalin-era apartment with a fireplace in the very center!:eek: ), met the legendary brothers who created WT - asm and Mee,
and also the no less legendary guy from St. Petersburg, Napalm
and other mega-stars of the Heroes scene; Merlin turned out to be particularly bright, and he personally reminded me of the Necromancer from Diablo 2; he had everything on point: jokes and curses:D .
The 1st round began, and in this photo, as Captain said, "everyone looks like they're about to fight someone" (apparently, Kostyan is a bad photographer:smile39: ), but in reality, they're just waiting for the results of the draw :) .
As I already wrote, everyone was playing all sorts of elaborate Heroes 3 + U combinations, except for Stinger and Neoendi on Jebus, for which I give them a separate fan's thank you ;) ! And here is an illustrative example of what happens when you use such oversized templates
In the evening, we went out to drink and play poker, for those who know how.
And then we went home; our apartment turned out to be not bad either:cool: , although we were six people crammed into a 2-room apartment (Bayazet, Leha, Roland, Medium, Neo, and I), here's the view from our balcony
In the 2nd round, a suspicious trend of switching to the Cove map began:D (and what did I say - the template isn't that bad :) ), although in principle, each participant was versatile and ready to play anything, including the Portal players Neo and Alone.
Vitalik arrived, but something didn't work out for him on Jebus...
The future champion, Bayazet, started off strong - 2 out of 2 in one day!!!:eek:
An interesting and even somewhat unique situation arose between Napalm and Neoendi: Andrey gave People to Sergey on the Black map, forgetting that, as chess players say, "in the variations" there, Archdevils rule:D - as a result, his mega-Tank was simply outmatched by Marius, a hero with 30 spell power, even despite the Amulet of Nullification when the Tank tried to attack Marius, the first one lost a dozen units and was left with nothing, and the Demon simply bought himself off with his faithful Archdevil - as a result, they decided to settle this in poker :) .
Luck smiled on Napalm.
