Easy:) : the so-called scouting — finding the cons/external dwelling/tree/Dragon Utopia etc. You actually have to find them; those little pests aren't obligated to appear right next to the Castle gates.
Even "taking a 3rd level con on the second turn" can be interpreted in different ways.:p
