I think everyone already understands that: 1) the AC will be chosen; 2) the AC will not change its decision regarding Alex. So all your arguments are already pointless, and I suggest we stop them as unnecessary. There's no point in continuing to prove something to each other by coming up with new colorful examples: those who wanted to understand got it the first time. It would be better to spend your energy on selecting the optimal roster.
My IMHO in brief, simply because I haven't written here yet.
1. I am categorically against the AC interfering in my tournaments or influencing my decisions in any way. But situations may arise where their help is needed.
First, I mostly work with newcomers, and not all of them are reasonable. I can handle it and deliver my impartial judging decision, but. We have a democratic resource here... An offended (as it seems to them) newcomer might get the bright idea to appeal this somewhere on the forum. Support from the public who don't understand the situation, followed by me foaming at the mouth trying to justify myself... :) Why would I need all that if there's a special body to which I can hand over all the materials in such a situation and save my nerves?
2. Let's say I even catch a cheater red-handed (or it just seems that way to me). To prove it, I would still need to post the materials somewhere, ask for opinions from knowledgeable people, conduct some polls... Why? If there is, again, a group of, I emphasize, more competent individuals who take on the courage and responsibility in such matters.
So I see no point in getting rid of the AC.
I don't know how to chew it up any more, I have nothing to add.
Now about the composition:
1. Let me remind everyone that we didn't just choose the AC, and besides, the AC is not a governing body on HeroesWorld. Our governing body is the Organizing Committee (OC). In theory, I should be answerable to the OC as the tournament organizer. The OC bears enormous responsibility for the content of the tournament grid and for the state of HeroesWorld as a whole. Why aren't we discussing its composition, and why are Pit and Pasha still not on it? In my IMHO, they are the very people on HeroesWorld who should be there, and not be distracted by digging through saves and aseka logs!
2. I seriously suggest that Vic and Ketch consider the possibility of their participation in the AC. I personally would be all for it. For Vic, I'd even be for it with both feet: he has already so thoroughly dissected and analyzed so many saves and generations that I have no doubt about his competence. And I don't care about his bias towards the resource or the game version; what matters more is his ability to analyze and convey his thoughts. I think I will find like-minded people.
PS And finally.
It's very easy to say that the cops are assholes and the judge is three-two-one.
It's harder to put yourself in their shoes and do the right thing
