It was simply interesting both to teach people various tricks and to learn myself, because no matter how super-duper-mega-good you are, you still don't know everything.
But it all ended overnight. With the wiping of the ranking, the creation of the tournament off-patch, and the departure of many strong players who didn't want to play under those conditions. Some just left, some even got themselves banned. And even then there were shouts like, well, go ahead, we're not holding anyone. What did this lead to? The offline component of HW simply faded away. If before HW in this regard was almost on par with HP, last year well... everyone sees it. It's good that there's a person like Kostya, who understands everything and is starting to revive offline tournaments by holding them according to HP Rules, which many here smeared with mud during the creation of the patch. But things are starting to get better. Though, I repeat, almost two years down the drain. In Heroes 2, by the way, things are much worse. No matter how much I tried to convince Querty that you can't require playing on Book, he's stubborn. As a result, purely HW tournaments get 3-4 players. Joint tournaments held on two versions gather far more people.
Now about online. Yes, in a neighboring topic they reproach me, saying I don't play myself but stick my nose everywhere with my megaposts. Well excuse me, I used to play before, circumstances have changed somewhat. But I've been following all the major events in the online world for several years now. I'll say honestly, HW has developed very strongly in online terms over the last two years. And not the least role in this was played by newcomers from other worlds. When AK was elected, I thought it was a very good thing, and on the Portal I always cited it as an example. HW is currently without a doubt the best online resource for Heroes.
But now AK is essentially doing what was done two years ago in offline. If people don't see this, that's very bad. A judge, an organizer, beyond all this is also a diplomat. If he can't find a common language with all players, that's very bad. And if he also can't assess what one or another of his steps will lead to, what consequences - that's doubly bad.

P.S. The situation with phrases like "noobs - step aside" - I also consider more than disgusting!!! Newcomers need to be helped and taught. Always. And who helped you when you yourselves were noobs?
