Eh.... :( You won't believe it – but the most interesting period was 2006 to mid-2007!!! Everything was just beginning – but it was incredibly exciting!!! There were such wonderful people here! So many projects, plans...
This is a very common opinion, I often hear it in one form or another. So it's worth clarifying the situation.

There is a time in life called childhood. When everything is new, beautiful, and rosy. When people love, make friends, fantasize, etc. But there is one problem – in a state of childhood, it is difficult to accomplish anything serious. Precisely because of this perception of reality.

Therefore, over time, adolescence arrives – when muscles have grown, the brain has filled with some knowledge, certain inclinations and talents have emerged, and the worldview has become more closely aligned with reality.

And ambitions naturally arise – the desire to prove oneself, to demonstrate something. Fantasies turn into goals and plans, strengths become tools for their realization, and weaknesses provide feedback.

This process inevitably leads to a choice – either we continue to remain in carefree childhood, content with a low social status, or we enter the struggle for a higher status. And struggle is always a difficult matter, accompanied by mistakes, hardships, and strain on both mind and body.

About 2-3 years ago, HeroesWorld was a blissful sandbox that many miss. But back then, it didn't have any particular ambitions. Simply because there were no opportunities to realize those ambitions. People just sat around and enjoyed life.

But at a certain point, the cards fell into place – ferment began among the minds on "Bay" and "Portal", and various comrades, hardened in battles both heroic and forum-based, emerged. And since "Bay" and "Portal" were something of antipodes at the time, not very friendly toward each other's messengers, HeroesWorld became that neutral territory where all this seething energy poured out.

From there, the process developed naturally – attendance grew significantly, as did the average level of play, the caliber of tournaments, and the authority of the organizers. This is indirectly evidenced by the scale of the flame wars – it almost infallibly points to the location of the metropolis. If there are no flame wars, it means you're on the sidelines of the historical process.

Accordingly, ambitious projects began to emerge – first various inter-portal events, then the CIS Championship, the World Championship, etc. Only, all these projects require people, and not blissful elves, but hardened conquistadors. They are needed for everything – for organization, for PR, for participation, and for support. Otherwise, the endeavor will simply die at one stage or another.

And such people, for the most part, have difficult personalities, simply due to the nature of their activity – if you constantly have to fight, to wrest tournament points and reputation from others, then a corresponding character is formed: a tendency toward conflict, sharpness in words and actions, the ability to hit below the belt, the ability to take a hit, the ability to work for a long time in an unfriendly environment, and to stay alert.

This is clearly noticeable, for example, in the CIS Championship – both among the organizers and the participants, it's almost exclusively bounty hunters; all the blissful elves have been swept away by the wave one way or another. And this happens in almost every serious project – such is the law of life.

Therefore, the sighs about the bright past are somewhat hypocritical for many – on one hand, they want everyone to be friends and not offend each other, but on the other hand, they want HeroesWorld to be the heroic center of the Russian internet, implementing some big projects. No, son, that's a fantasy...
