in general, the very idea of a permanent ban seems impractical to me, and I don't see it having any meaning. If a person has become part of a community, there's nothing that can force them out.
Hmm... unfortunately, the history of the forum shows the opposite. In the very beginning, we had a user named Tigrenok ("old-timers, anyone remember?) - a notorious spammer (that's what we thought back then!!! :rolleyes: Now he would seem cute and fluffy:( ). So, he also had a permanent ban. We convinced the admins to unban him once. As a result, he was banned again, and that was it.... He tried to register clones and so on - we caught him and deleted them. He was banned by IP address. That's it. The person disappeared - although it was clear that he really loved the forum and enjoyed being here. It would be interesting now if he returned. But no. So people leave... But most often, no one wins from this.
