Yeah, indeed....
To be honest!!! I really miss the 2007-2008 era of the forum... That gaming and peaceful-cozy atmosphere. When I eagerly read Invisible's and Decontaminator's reports, smiled at Loi's and Dirty's humor...
When there wasn't even a hint of all those squabbles and intrigues.....
But then a couple of elements appear and now and then flooding, snideness, and insults start slipping through.... The vast majority of people are well-mannered, so these messages get ignored, but they are absorbed and stored in the mind. New players arrive, and some of them, seeing such squabbles, insults, and flooding, think: "Well, some folks are mocking this guy, let me join in too.... So to speak, announce my arrival..."
I can't help but mention how impressed I was by the Portal's atmosphere when I took my first steps there.... Messages like "Sir .... def Sir ...." and this is our time!!! When I timidly messaged DeepMike, Neoandi, or Vitalik on ICQ.... That I could allow myself to flood somewhere or latch onto someone's message with a joke or sarcasm.... I didn't even have such thoughts!!! Although in real life, I'm quite a prickly character..
On the World, detailed reports and sincere thanks for games further reinforced my attachment to this forum....
And now what?...? Yes, many great players have arrived. Yes, the skill level has increased greatly!!! Yes, there are many interesting tournaments now.... But the communication atmosphere and the very highlight of HeroesWorld have faded.... We should think about why and where we are heading? You can hide in your shell and passively observe what's happening, occasionally leaving your mark by voting in polls, elections, etc. But that won't last long.... And in a year, people will flock to some fresh and untested resource....

P/S: and this widespread "No beginners, please" in profiles .....How cool we've become!!! Was it so long ago that we ourselves were knocking on doors?? Everyone says the forum is developing, many new strong players are coming.... But have you thought about how many beginners get disappointed in the forum when, in response to a game offer, they get "Sorry, I don't play with beginners".... Then who are they supposed to play with???? The bot again??
For comparison.....Look at reports from mid-to-late 2008, almost all of 2009. Or the rating table. How many new nicks are there and how many reports involving beginners.... Don't count the top players who came from neighboring resources, but rather the actual starting players.
And look at late 2009 and the current 2010. How many new nicks will you see??
