The funny thing is that the top stack of Griffins waited instead of attacking the single unit. I've never seen anything like that before.

Yes, the Goblin was initially in the 5th stack, and his turn only came after the first stack of Griffins had waited. I saw this for the first time myself, which is why I posted the screenshots.
