Bought a Castle for 1500 and a color for 600. Played by RP4 rules, took three resets on 111, two of them on blocks right next to the castle. In the game generation, I scout with a view spell near home — one passage with a teleport is blocked by a horde of green elves behind a Dragon Fly Hive, good thing there's another one. Gold was average — barely enough for 5 heroes, an air external dwelling in the corner, my opponent is a Barbarian, my opponent is Castle, a decent option for this map.
I break through the subway from home, see a Griffin Conservatory, a teleport, and another view spell, which ultimately decided the direction choice. I revealed a path to the center guarded by 5-9 Liches, behind them two shields +5 and +6, a Naga Bank, a Dwarf Cottage, and an Angel external dwelling, but I don't go there yet, I dive into the teleport — Barbarian respawn, good.
I bring the Water elementals, at the Barb respawn another view spell — unreal luck, I thought. I see an empty Stronghold, next to it a prison — I free Tunara:smile03: , 20 Air elementals! Well, Barb is no longer scary, I put Tunara in the fort, buy Enova there too and run for ore, the fires were just barely enough.
The opponent's Barb attacks with Rocs and dies, taking 34 Pixies with him. The army heads home to take the Crypt and grab a couple of treasure chests, Moner camps near the Dwarf Cottage with 20 upgraded Dwarves and waits for Psychic Elementals to arrive.
I take the Dwarf Cottage, clear the chests, build a chain to the Air elementals, Papa is already level 7, the plan is painfully simple — take the Griffin Conservatory on 121 and run to the center, I checked and for some reason decided it was a double.
The second brown player with the remains of a rabble blocked the Stronghold doors, the chain was set up for such a case — I sent him to the afterlife for good, returned the army to the home respawn, upgrade the Air elementals, see a Crypt and a passage bypassing the earred (elf) horde. I think about running the other way, through the Dragon Fly Hive. But I don't want to, blue has appeared near the Angel external dwelling, meaning there's a chance for a rush.
I arrive at the Griffin Conservatory — it's Troglodytes with upgrades, damn. On 121 I won't have enough gold to buy everything out, I think about whether to place the birds or not — in the end I place them.
I check the Griffin Conservatory with a scout hero — it's tier 3, that's easier. The army hits the teleport and the scout prepares to see what's there, but a chain is also built to the Griffin Conservatory, where Papa simply skips the day.
Behind the teleport, nothing interesting, I need to make contact, otherwise blue will cut red off from the center, as often happens on 8mm6a. I build two marketplaces, sell everything down to zero, Papa gets 3 birds, 6 Psychic Elementals, 47 Air elementals, 21 Water elementals, I bring 19 Orcs. I lost Orcs, 2 Air elementals, and about 15 Water elementals. I rush to the external dwelling, it took the whole turn to get there.
I farm the goodies, at the transition an enemy scout chases away my scout hero preparing for reconnaissance.
I go look myself, I run to the teleport — there's another view spell there:D , but in the swamp, I can't reach it. On the road nearby there's an unclaimed Scholar, I decided I was running the "wrong way", I surface and move down the road a few tiles. But at the transition, I see the enemy swarm hitting Medusas in the same swamp and Marius in person running off somewhere.
I bring the rest of the swarm and dive into the teleport, I reveal with a view spell thanks to advanced Pathfinding (they offered earth magic three times, I didn't take it:p ) and I reach Pirr and Marius with the swarm, with even a couple of spare tiles left. Stats are slightly higher, swarm is bigger, the opponent concedes.
Thanks for the game!
