Regarding the 4-minute and 6-minute time limits, I've often seen that games last longer with the 4-minute limit. The main reason is that the gameplay is weaker, which means more game days are required (losses due to giving up don't count). For example, on Jebus, a game with a 4-minute time limit will often last longer, even with Vitaly's program.
I have a good attitude towards unlimited time, but not in tournaments, of course.
P.S. In my personal opinion, a 4000+400 control is closer to 4 minutes per turn than to 6.
TE players usually play without morale and GS, so battles are faster and more monotonous, often on autopilot (as Yuri wrote). But even on SOD, for example, ordinary ogres in 7 stacks with GS can cause problems on an unusual terrain. You consider the protection against morale first, and secondly, to prevent someone from accidentally blocking the passage. That's why it takes longer.
