Perhaps, it would be more correct to say "bug in the generator - many guards, one is missing" (this is crap, we don't fix crap (c)).
The fact that there may not be guards on the passage is a shock to me; this was not even mentioned as a bug in the description of the templates. IMHO, this introduces adjustments to the assessment of many controversial situations.
