There's no disagreement here, just a misunderstanding. The debaters want the same thing – and it's not about asserting their own superiority, in my opinion – but if you ignore the details, they're actually in agreement. The methods of achieving this may be different, but when people simply don't listen to each other and don't want to listen, they won't reach an agreement, no matter what((((( Conclusion: it's important to separate the person (and especially one's subjective opinion about that person) from the cause that this person serves. And in any dispute, think about the cause, without resorting to personal attacks. That's one thing! :) And here's a little something about who will be coming from Moscow and Michurinsk, and this may also be relevant for other qualifying players: Selection is based on the available spots, as determined by the organizers: A deadline is set for when the final roster must be confirmed (probably the end of March). If top players decline, those who are next in line will be selected from the same tournament. If any of the top players don't show up due to unforeseen circumstances, without notifying the organizers in advance, then it's simple: the vacant spot(s) is/are given to players from Kyiv as a wildcard... or however they agree, it's not a big deal))))) It seems like a bonus for the city hosting the tournament, but it's definitely better than having a bracket with gaps. And it's definitely better for a strong local player to be a full participant than to be a bot....)) And it's definitely better than someone from another city being considered a backup option in case someone declines or doesn't decline, with all the uncertainty that comes with it. :)
