Most likely, you are entering the coordinates incorrectly. The values you are using are not the same as the x, y coordinates on the map. You need to do it this way: create a camera that encompasses the entire scene and start adjusting the numbers in the x, y, z fields until everything works as expected. If you are creating an effect underground, the z value should be around 12-18.
