Yeah, the setup was good, but the tempo... At the respawn there were 2 cons (2+4) and an external dwelling of angels. Another con at the swamp respawn (1), and I stole one more(3) near the opponent's captured necro-secondary.
Thanks to max and pre-max crypts on the first, money was sufficient.
As for external dwellings, there was one dragonfly (helped moving through swamps) and gnolls (helped in the starting 1).
I collected cons slowly, and in the end, those moves weren't enough. Plus, I made a gross mistake (even 4-5 AM doesn't justify it) - TP home to defend the main instead of passing all the power to Valeska and actually running toward the Dragon Utopia (max wings, sandals +2...). And the treasure zone was good - 2 libraries near the Dragon Utopia, hives.
I naively expected the opponent to attack the Castle (and I had shackles :)). But the opponent, of course, didn't attack, but ran into my swamp, and there would have been a weave upgrade and jumps toward the Dragon Utopia. He attacked just for show; 12 angels without magic can't handle 47 weaves in a swamp with speed cloaks.
