AlexeyPank. In my opinion, it is unlikely that Siberia would be able to be an independent state now, at least for a long time, so if it were to separate from Russia, it would become part of China, Japan, or, even worse, the USA. I don't think that Siberians would be better off with the Chinese, Japanese, or Americans than with the Russians. As far as I know, salaries in Siberia are higher than in the European part of Russia, at least they were in Soviet times, and probably still are now. The problem of draining resources from Siberia needs to be solved by promoting one's own people to positions of power. For example, Yeltsin was a real Siberian man, as someone said after his death, and he was also president, so why didn't he even try to solve the problems you are writing about, but instead made the situation even worse and appointed Putin as his successor, instead of another Siberian?
