Yes, it's true that the Hive is relatively easy to take. Saying that 3 knights can consistently survive is an exaggeration, of course. 1-2 morale points for a full stack of flies in the first two rounds, and the battle becomes more challenging, but overall, the risk is small, and it's quite acceptable for online play.
