yeah, for future reference – if the goal is to determine the 2-3 best, as here in the selection process, I think the ideal system is to start with a group stage (round-robin within the groups), then move on to the playoffs, and the finalists make it to the Best, while the third place is determined in a match among the losers of the semifinals. This way, everyone benefits (the advantages of time management in a round-robin system, within the groups), and no one is harmed (the winners will be fairly determined). Something like that...
Well, as mentioned above:

you don't argue with the judge. And in general, Swiss-system tournaments are better than no tournaments at all. Thank you to those who organize them.
