That happened.

My intuition failed me again, even though the resource was still at 1.1.1.
I just didn't think that the only road would lead to the Grove. I went off-road, but I also made a mistake in direction, so I could have at least set up a resource camp on Roman's secondary town.
I only managed to get out on the third week by going off-road and taking a secondary town - the Tower, where I at least got 4 resources in the Naga Bank. But I still didn't buy any Dryads or Gnomes.
I could have gotten out into the Fortress, but the Archers from the Towers were shooting instead of the Archers with 140+ attack in the Pikemen, which I think decided the game.
