In a balanced game against Psyche_7, I noticed a strange peculiarity. I had taken quite a few Hives. So, the army: 7 Champions, 4 Angels, 20+ Monks (un-upgraded), and a few Pikemen. The hero is Marik, already level 10+. In the non-maxed Hives, the flies seemed to disdain or fear the Monks. I placed the Monks in the center (4 stacks), but they weren't attacked in the first round. Is there an explanation for this?

Well, you've discovered something new:). I've always sent archers into Hives, without the melee penalty (except maybe the weak Mages from the Tower), and sometimes I even take a Lizardman with me for the fat swamp creatures (Taza and Vistana); they usually don't attack it (we leave the first stack as is), the flies block with one stack - we kill it with others, and we even shoot with archers!! :smile28: ... Honestly, I can't remember the last time the flies attacked the archers in a Hive, although I don't know what it depends on either:confused:.
