Technical issues with Heroes III.

Please advise, has anyone encountered a problem where a Heroes player cannot log into the World under their nickname because they have forgotten their password? When attempting to recover the password, the player enters their email address, but the response is: "incorrect email." Is it possible to log in without re-registering, but using the previous data? Thank you!
