GO FOR IT, NEWBIE!!!

Hello everyone. I'm a beginner in Heroes 3. But I only played against the computer before and only about 5 times with other people. I don't know any 1v1 strategies. I used to play WarCraft, so I understand that you can't go anywhere without strategies.

Please tell me which castles and heroes are the best in duels. Which castle beats which, and which doesn't. And also, what version is everyone playing now, because I have 3 of them!

1. I didn't quite understand what "duels" you mean :)
If it's specifically arena battles, then TC-3 is the most popular here. There was a tournament; check it out and see for yourself who is stronger there.

2. If it's just online battles, then the hierarchy of "strength" might be approximately like this (SoD):

1. Necropolis (Galthran)
2. Conflux (any hero)
3-4. Dungeon (Shakti) - Rampart (Kirr, Yvor)
5-6. Castle (Valeska) - Swamp (Tazar)
7-8. Tower (Nella, Ain, Toroshar, Solmyr) - Barbarian (Gurnisson, Tyraxor, Krag Hack)
9. Inferno (Pir)

3. Versions:
Most people play SoD 3.2 and 4.0 (The Shadow of Death).
