I was signed up for the tournament on December 8th. By that time, most of my opponents had already played almost all their games, meaning they got off to a quick start. On December 11th, I started asking everyone who could play to get in touch. I think I have enough time – I should be able to play all my games in the next three weeks. Then, on December 12th and 16th, there's a continuation of a postponed match – my first game against Rimpel. Maybe I could have found time for other games as well, playing them in parallel. But I didn't know that my opponents would start disappearing. There's still half a month left. On December 15th, I arranged to play my second game with Caliostro on December 22nd, and on December 18th, I arranged to play with Marazhan three days later, on December 21st. I'm not scheduling the third game yet – I need to play these two first. On December 21st, I played against Marazhan, but we didn't finish. Then, he lost connection and couldn't play until mid-January (and the tournament was supposed to end on December 31st). Caliostro was also absent for two weeks, starting on December 15th. Quell also disappeared around December 21st. I won't keep writing and checking a hundred times – I'll check on ICQ, see that the opponent is offline, send a message, and wait for someone to reply. And I see that they are offline every day. It's all very simple. I just couldn't manage it during the pre-New Year period. That's my small fault. :) Since I couldn't play any of the three games, and I needed 2 points to advance to the playoffs, I couldn't advance under any circumstances, regardless of how I played the first game. By the way, I lost that game due to a single accidental mouse click (I activated Death Wave during a battle). Next time, I'll try to play all my tournament games within two weeks before the end of the group stage, just in case my opponents disappear for half a month.
