Please explain to a newbie:confused: why divide the attack stack by... x... I understand if you block the archers. But here it was clear that the angels would go first and block the archers....

I didn't intend to divide anyone; the efreets remained divided after the previous battle, and I thought they would merge on their own. I was sure that stacks only disappear when there are more than 7 types of monsters, i.e., even with a complete merging of stacks, there isn't enough space for everyone.
I tested it again and confirmed the existence of another criterion for merging (besides the stack strength) - location. If you spend the night outside with seven single efreets and leave seven single spearmen inside, the spearmen will disappear, and in battle, there will be 7 single efreets. However, if you simply switch the armies' positions for the night, i.e., the efreets inside and the hero with the single spearmen outside, the result is completely different - no one disappears, 7 efreets become one stack, and the spearmen become 2+1+1...
