A THREAD FOR NEWCOMERS!

I'm currently having trouble installing WoG... and I decided to practice with the regular game (Armageddon's Blade) until I get WoG installed.

Unfortunately, problems with installing WoG are a common and well-known issue. :( To avoid them, the most important thing is: before installing any mods, updates, or patches, make a full backup of the game (i.e., the entire folder with the installed and working "Heroes")! Then, even if something goes wrong, you can simply revert to the previous state.
2nd option: copy the "Heroes" folder to another location and try installing WoG there.
You can read about what WoG can be installed on and what it cannot here: http://heroes.ag.ru/h35/
The installation order and links to the necessary files (WoG itself and the Russian language packs) can be found here: http://wforum.heroes35.net/showthread.php?tid=540
