Yes, but it's better to decide right away. If you want to develop necromancy, it's better to build dragons in the castle. And you can summon devils, slimes, and ghosts during the battle.

But what is the connection between necromancy and dragons? I always build dragons, but that's solely because I like their properties... they are very effective at knocking almost any unit off the tower during castle sieges (((((((: As for summoned creatures... that's certainly good, but personally, I (don't bash me for my opinion) only summon imps and devils... (that is, until I develop to the point of summoning devils, I summon imps... quantity, plus magic stealing :))
