Appeals Committee. Disputed situations in tournaments.

What's the point? In games, when a player has to postpone a match for any reason (disconnection, real-life issues), is it really necessary to pursue them in the game, write in the forums trying to prove that they lost, messed up, or didn't build a castle on turn 117...? Wouldn't it be easier to just forget about that game and not play with them anymore (without bothering the forums and other players)? And in tournaments, there are organizers who will take appropriate measures!
