It's something out of a fantasy novel, but here's what I think:
Mafia: Cash, WhiteLizard, Hermit
At the beginning, Hermit suggests a clear vote against Liza to divert suspicion from the others. The probability that the town will go for it is low (and even if they do, losing one of their own isn't a big deal, since there are 4 mafia members). If the town doesn't go for it, that's even better for the mafia. Then, the town kills one of the mafia members, which is a plus for the town and a minus for the mafia, so the plans change...
Then, seemingly by chance, Lizard finds evidence against Magnus (by the way, it's quite plausible; most likely, Magnus is the town member, and the mafia decided to take revenge on him for killing one of them, i.e., Arandor), and they all vote against him.
The town executes the town member, the mafia remains unharmed, and then... I don't know what happens next, because I can't see the future...
