Well, purely from a gameplay perspective, there were 11 dragons, and it wasn't difficult to defeat them with a decent attack. If there had been 100+ cyclops, there would have been significant losses, of course, and I probably wouldn't have engaged the cavalry horde because there was only one mass haste spell for 2 rounds, which wouldn't allow me to defeat the cavalry with acceptable losses, especially without a strong attack.
