Faydaen is great; finally, a "normal," tough elf. I'm tired of these pretty boys with feminine features, gentle voices, and delicate hands. In my opinion, elves have evolved over all these wars – they've gained muscle and become more aggressive... It's logical. In short, they've finally become completely to my liking.
No, I didn't like him from the start. He naively thinks he can write poetry. What especially annoyed me was that, seeing the dead Tieru, he said he was late. Of course, he was late! While he was there composing poems and delivering pompous speeches, both in and out of rhyme, the demons could have destroyed all of Ashen, and he would have kept saying he didn't have time. Besides, he's not a follower of Silanna; he's a fanatic. Silanna doesn't preach killing, but this guy, using the pursuit of harmony as an excuse, slaughters everyone in sight. I liked how Railag put him in his place. And Nicholas? He asked Faydaen, as a friend, what would become of his soul, and he indifferently and blankly replied that he didn't know. He killed the poor guy. Where's the compassion?! He himself slanders them, saying they are evil and cruel, but how is he any better?!
