No matter how stupid and ugly the map is, and no matter how much the author rambles, I always play it to the end – simply out of respect for the author's work, even if it's negative.

But I can't agree with that! Respect for the author's work decreases when the map is stupid and ugly! In my opinion, the author should respect the player, so that the player doesn't waste days only to find out that the author "slipped up" and forgot to place the necessary artifact/spell on the map, didn't ensure access to the necessary map object, simply didn't care about the clumsiness of his speech, errors, and typos in every word, etc.
