That's not true. My friend sent one, about 600 rubles were deducted from his account, but the code worked.

Reinstall the system and that's it. It's no big deal.

If you have only one hard drive, then as far as I remember, this means completely formatting it. But in my case, for example, I have a huge collection of games, music, movies, and just pleasant/interesting/funny things that will not be easy to replenish in this case.
Personally, my old Vista managed to deal with this virus with an almost working system (you can't open more than one window, the desktop looks messed up), and I, in turn, cured it by simply restoring the system.
And yes, tell your friend to stop browsing porn sites/clicking on links from hacked friends. I personally had the second one, and my friend had the first. No, really. :)
