"Might vs. Magic"

Shakti arrived with 3 stacks, broke through the monolith to the rocks, on day 2 scouted there — got a good amount of gold and resources, on day 3 took the Barbarian town and decided to build Beholders there. By the end of the week, took a secondary Castle, recovered gold, 8 heroes, had enough tempo to build 1-3,5,7 in the Barbarian Citadel, 1-3 in the Dungeon Citadel with Troglodyte growth, three marketplaces, Shakti has the artifact for anti-morale, ready to take the Dragon Shield for diamonds the next day. On day 121, I buy a 9th hero, Troglodytes, 2 Beholders, take the Dragon Shield and a Crypt for 35 diamonds (gave anti-Berserk), on day 122 I engage in the Castle and take the Cloak of Undead King and Dragon Scale Armor (Spirit of Oppression rules) with 35 Gorgons and a strong stack, and Brissa finds a stone respawn of stables, a Griffin Conservatory, 2 external dwellings of birds, a mana waterfall, free Boots of Speed. I clear both external dwellings and take the second-tier Griffin Conservatory, in the Barbarian town 1-5, 7 in the Castle, in the Dungeon a portal with bird buyback. On day 131, Luna reaches the Dungeon, I buy a 10th hero, evacuate Troglodytes and birds from the portal, Shakti takes a chest for 5k gold, gets basic Earth Magic, and from the stables engages in the Barbarian town, and on day 132 Shakti (10-9-3 (170+) expert Offense, Defense, Tactics, Logistics + Boots, basic Earth) on the other side of the monolith, with 30 Greater Birds (didn’t have enough tempo to take 3 more birds from one external dwelling), 4 Beholders, 200+ Troglodytes, 2 Angels, and the Cloak of Undead King, ready to take the nearby Dragon Utopia next to the Dungeon. But the opponent sensed a trap and went all-in: entered the Dragon Utopia (max) with a mage with stats 7-2. Didn’t come out for a long time, thought he’d surrender, but eventually came out and bought back with 6 remaining Angels. :eek: The next day, he was bringing reinforcements, planning to reclaim his Dungeon and head to the treasure zone toward a cluster of star nodes. The game was shaping up to be dragged out for a long time — his level 1-2 magic with a decent Lightning Bolt against my 17 birds per week growth, probably for a month — Kostya offered a draw, and I agreed.
