Am I the only one who sees a subtle hint that Cash wasn't a warlock after all?

I'd say it's a pretty obvious hint! The city made a mistake by executing an innocent man. I almost had enough time to save Cash, it's a shame :(
I'm starting to distrust the Witch... she manipulated the city, convinced us that Cash was bad, but in the end, he was actually good. "He reluctantly did good" - BUT he still did good! Elves and the evil snowman don't do good.
Again, some unclear clues.
I still can't understand what Neira was doing at the Witch's house? Was she protecting her?
Are there any other theories?
