Best of HeroesWorld - final of the strongest (autumn 2009)

So, the first "Best of HeroesWorld" tournament has ended. It lasted 4 months and didn't go very smoothly.
Initially, after the selection process, there were supposed to be 10 participants in the tournament.

About the bad things.

Alex_R. It's a pity that such a strong player withdrew from the tournament due to disagreement with the judging. I still hope that mutual understanding will eventually be reached. We will continue to work on the tournament rules to minimize the number of such controversial situations.

vitalic. I don't understand one thing: why?

Vigo. Disqualification. He confirmed his participation. One match was played. Two official refusals and serious accusations of unfair play, to which Vigo preferred not to respond. And then - ignoring the tournament.
According to the tournament rules:

For the correct calculation of the Berger coefficient, the following rule will be used: if a participant has played less than 50% of the matches (i.e., 4 or less), he will be disqualified and the results of the matches he has played will be annulled.

Thus, in fact, it turned out to be a round-robin tournament among 7 players.
Everything has been played except Wlk777 - LeBron. This match could have been decisive in the fight for first place. But it didn't happen...
According to the rules:

During rounds 8 and 9 (November 2-29), any participant can request to schedule a match with any other participant, regardless of which round they were supposed to meet.

No requests to schedule a match were received from me. In the last 2.5 months, only 4 matches were played. Due to the reduction in the number of participants, each player had an extra month. There was plenty of time. I periodically reminded the main favorites about the tournament and received assurances in response that everything would be done on time.
And here is the contradiction. As a player, I don't like teching; I prefer fair and open competition. I spoke with both players last night. At the mutual request of the opponents, I would have preferred to extend the tournament deadline. But no such request was made. As the host, I cannot go back on my word; I wrote the rules for both the players and the hosts, i.e., for myself as well. And I will not change the regulations without force majeure circumstances. Therefore, the result of the Wlk777 - LeBron match is 0(t)-0(t).

Out of 20 matches counted in the tournament on the 2smd4(3) template, 8 games were played (40%), balance - 5 (25%), Panic - 4 (20%), 8mm6 - 3 (15%), Jebus cross - 0.

We need to decide how and when we will hold the next Best, and what its composition will be. We will wait for the results of the Selection and Favorites and discuss these details. One thing can be said for sure: our good player Dubrovin Pavel will not participate in the next Best. I wish him good luck in the PL on HotA, where he recently successfully qualified.
And, of course, the top three winners are guaranteed a place in the next Best.
