There's a huge difference between immediately adding someone and not reacting at all to a question about the possibility of participating in the tournament. These nuances are what shape a person's reputation as a tournament organizer. Especially on a resource that positions itself as a leader in attracting new players. I don't know, maybe Kostya answered the person in ICQ, saying that the spots are filled, etc. - as a participant in his tournament, I want to see his reaction to certain events and preferably with explanations. And this is not a whim - I just want to know what to expect from the organizer in case of a controversial situation. The first impression is that in any controversial situation, the issue will be resolved in favor of the person he knows better and longer - not the most flattering.
P.S. Sam and Spirit, as far as I remember, talked to almost every little-known player who wanted to play in the qualifiers and announced all their decisions.
