With your permission, I'd like to add my thoughts.
In the previous tournament, there were many more familiar nicknames, and it was possible to check almost everyone, review their reports. However, some still dropped out, but there was no real tragedy in that.
In the upcoming tournament, I don't have that opportunity; almost all the nicknames are unfamiliar, and I physically can't check everyone, nor do I intend to. I see two potential problems:
1. Some might lose interest in the tournament. This isn't so bad, in my opinion. Those who want to play will stay. I hope that 16 dedicated players will qualify for the playoffs, and I don't need more than that. There are a few "proven" nicknames, and I will, of course, place them in different groups.
2. A more serious problem is if someone among the reasonably skilled players decides to register a clone account. This is theoretically possible, but it can also be resolved. Therefore, I insist that everyone обязательно make saves, even the autosave that Sir Four posted in the thread.
This is where the help of the administrators might be useful. But catching careless newcomers and vouching for them is not their job; they should focus on catching cheaters.
Regarding the first problem, we could require participants to play one game in the season, but it's probably too late now; that's my mistake. What if someone doesn't check the thread before December 1st, but then plays normally and doesn't let anyone down? That's also a possibility. So, we'll leave everything as it is, and time will tell. If my opinion matters, I'll vouch for mals. He behaves appropriately in ICQ, has read the rules, played in the season, and showed up online early for a game with me in Balance (I was 20 minutes late). What else? Oh, yes - he doesn't focus on economy in the early game. :)
You have the right to vouch for whomever you want. I just don't see the point in this action. What will you do if your protégé disappears? Play instead of him? What's the purpose of all this? :)
