Do you think it's inappropriate to call the aforementioned drug addict pathetic? Because "there are people who are even more pathetic and miserable"?
Shouldn't we call a single mother, working multiple jobs for meager wages to feed her children who wear rags, poor, because there are homeless people who are even poorer?
What a great position. You could even defend it in a debate before an election, giving voters the illusion of utopia.
